Licensing

As you will probably be aware during the summer of 2005 most aspects of licensing from that relating to alcohol to putting on a one off event to raise charitable funds come under the auspices of the local Town Hall.

You may think this will have made life simpler but such thoughts are unfounded. Before embarking on a venture which may involve, entertaining, feeding or serving drink to the public please speak to one of the solicitors in our Licensing Department and check what, if any, Licensing/Permission is required. Failure to do so may well result subsequently in a visit from the "boys in blue" or perhaps worse a visit during the event itself and an Order by them that all proceedings should cease forthwith. Please be aware that in many cases an Application has to be made some months before the event itself so always seek appropriate advice at an early date to avoid disappointment.
